Add & Remove Tag

Adding and removing a tag are some of the actions supported during a chatbot conversation. Tags are used to categorize your audience and save them to subscriber profiles. It is commonly used for behavioral tracking; actions, and events through the perform action card. So if someone reached a certain stage in your flow, you can add a tag (or remove a tag if already present), so you know they did. You can also segment your audience using tags. You can add tags manually in the Tags Manager or automatically in your flows.

Once you click on the little cogwheel in the lower-right corner of the Perform Action Card, it opens up a new window. In the next section, you discover how these actions work.

Add Tag Explained

Once you’ve clicked on the Add Tag option from the drop-down list, it opens up a new window. This new window contains 3 fields which will be explained next.

1. Title

  • Enter a name for your message. It is recommended to enter something that’s easily identifiable in the ‘message naming’ field as you might need to edit and/or use this message in another area of Clepher.

2. Select Action Type

  • Select the add tag action from the list.

3. Tag to Add

  • Enter or type in the tag that you'd like to add for this specific scenario.

Tags in segments

The tags can be also used as conditions in your chatbot conversation flow. Here's an example of a scenario: We sent a question "Do you like pasta?" with two choices " YES and No".So when the user clicks "yes" the tag "interest yes" will apply to their user profile .You can also add a negative tag so you'll be able to send them a different set of messages or flow.

You can also use a tag with rules in order to trigger additional messages or a flow. Here's an example you can "add tag" to those who start a conversation in your chatbot.

Once they finished the chatbot flow and completed, you can add another action card with the action type " Remove tag" which is explained next.

Remove Tag Explained

Once you’ve clicked on the Remove Tag option from the dropdown list, it opens up a new window. This new window contains 3 fields which will be explained next.

1. Title

  • Enter a name for your message. It is recommended to enter something that’s easily identifiable in the ‘message naming’ field as you might need to edit and/or use this message in another area of Clepher.

2. Select Action Type

  • Select the remove tag action from the list.

3. Tag to Remove

  • By clicking on the drop-down, you will be able to view all the existing tags you have created. Select which tag you would like to remove. This removes the tag instantly for this scenario.

Tagging is not only used to categorize and organize your audience but also segment users who share common characteristics then customize their conversation and provide unique customer service depending on customers’ behavior.

Any changes made inside the card are autosaved whether you click on the save button, the exit button or simply click outside the card on your screen. It is immensely important to always click the "Save" button on the flow composer screen to apply any changes made.
